KUSIRUNA

Kusi Runa is an experience where you can share an everyday day of the life of the villagers of Huilloc by participating in the agricultural work in the chakra. Symbolically, he will be a member of the community and will experience his way of life and the daily activity of the Andean peasant. As a comunero, he will be dressed in a typical Huilloc poncho and will use traditional tools during the labors. The men will carry out agricultural work and women, cooking. He will end his experience with participation in ritual celebrations, through music and local dances.

YANAPANAKUY

Yanapanakuy is an experience that gives the opportunity to be part of the daily life and work of the community of Huilloc. Collective work, called minka in the Quechua language, is a fundamental activity for both cohesion and the well-being of Andean populations. Participating in the minka, you can collaborate with the maintenance or restoration of the communal school, the health post, the community hall or support in the construction of some dwellings of the villagers. On the other hand, it can participate in some of the ecological activities, such as the reforestation of the extraction forests, the community gardens or the cleaning and maintenance of the Huilloc River.

WILLAQ UMA

In Inca times, the willaq uma was the high priest; he pronounced the oracles and was the link between the sacred and the profane. In this activity we will assume the role of willaq uma participating in ancestral ritual practices that will bring us closer to the Andean world from its spiritual and sacred aspect. This activity is a sacred ritual that seeks the harmony between the spirit of man, nature and energy of the Andean deities. Participants in this role will have the opportunity to express our wishes and desires to enter the harmony of the cosmos.

CHASQUI

This experience with the community of Huilloc begins by choosing a visitor who will assume the responsibility of being the chaskiq (messenger). The rest of the group will be transported to the past along with him to accompany him in his adventure of delivering a khipu at the archaeological site of Aya Urqu. On our way we will visit the cave of Sutuq Mach’ay, a place where you will be asked for permission to have a good trip.

As we walk the path we will enjoy the landscape full of agricultural land and learn about the properties of many of the native plants and healing. The sound of pututu, an instrument made with a marine snail (Strombus galeatus), will announce the arrival at the archaeological site Aya Urqu. In a previous place we will prepare for our messenger to deliver the khipu and during this the local sage will evoke the dance of the condor, which will be executed by two authorities that will involve us in the ancient Inca spirituality.

PACHAKUY

ALLIN PACHAKUY

One of the main characteristics of Huilloc’s population is undoubtedly its dress. It is not only showy, but it contains a textile tradition of hundreds of years and symbolic representations of their cosmovision. In this program we offer you to participate in the process of making garments, using traditional techniques, ranging from dyeing with natural dyes to fabric with bone and wood utensils. During the process you will hear the signs and secrets for an optimal garment collection, as well as the meaning of the symbols and drawings used. Finally, you will be able to acquire a beautiful garment of Huilloc and, in this way, contribute to the strengthening of this traditional activity and the maintenance of its iconography.

YACHAYHUASI

In this activity you will have the opportunity to share the educational process of the children of the community, from the point of view of the Andean worldview. Here you will have an approach to the formation, values ​​and beliefs of your culture, based on reciprocity, life in the countryside, interaction with nature and magic-sacred. You will also have the opportunity to share with the children, know their stories, their desires and, of course, the future vision of their culture. In reciprocity, you will be able to share your own experiences and experiences, as well as the characteristics of the culture from which you come, generating a mutual cultural exchange and contributing to tolerance and respect for differences.
