The responsible traveller

” TRAVELING MAKES YOU HUMAN ”

Traveling is more than moving, going from one place to another; traveling implies opening our minds to cultural differences and lifestyles, avoiding imposing our cultural model or bending reality to our particular view of the world.

” THE TRIP IS PEOPLE ”

To travel is to exercise tolerance and dialogue, to be aware of the diversities and to remember that we are received in the land of others and that every step leaves a mark.

To learn to walk

As an “earth-friendly” traveler you have an important role and your contribution is necessary to make every trip as sustainable as possible. We would like the points contained in this page not to be for you a list of rules that you must follow, if not some suggestions to get closer to another way of discovering the Andes and the beings that inhabit it, respecting them.

How to BE A RESPONSIBLE TRAVELER?

DISCOVER AND RESPECT THE VARIOUS CULTURES AND TRADITIONS OF THE COUNTRY

You will find that your experience will be transformed, since you will gain the respect of the local population that will welcome you without hesitation.

HELP TO PRESERVE THE NATURAL HERITAGE

Protects flora and fauna. Do not buy products made with plants or animals at risk of extinction and do not leave garbage. Remember that water is very valuable in certain places because of its scarcity, try to make rational use.

CONTRIBUTES TO ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

of the country or town you visit. Try to respect the principle of trade solidarity. Haggling is possible and is part of many cultures, so when you do, do not forget to do it with respect and loyalty.

DONT GIVE MONEY, ABOVE ALL CHILDREN

If you want to offer them, do it in exchange for a small job or sale of a product, this way you will allow them not to detract from the fair value of earning money and will not create an erroneous perception of the relationship with the traveler.

GIVE LOCAL PRODUCTS

If you want to bring a present to your country, make sure that they are artisan products made by local communities. With your help you will be fomenting a fair trade and the maintenance of the families by means of economic income.

BEFORE YOU TAKE A PHOTO REQUEST PERMIT

A good photo is born of a smile, of sympathy and of dialogue. If you can show the photos you have taken them, and if they are children show them how to take one: for them it will be an experience they will not forget and for you a moment of exchange.

DIFFUSION

It announces and recommends the use and good practices in tourism to other people to create a network of responsible travelers around the world. Start with yourself and choose.
